Fiber bed mist eliminator used in energy saver, high efficiency

Fiber bed mist eliminators are made out of dense layers of micron size fibers placed between two concentric cylindrical cages. Fiber bed mist eliminators can meet a wide range of application and industry requirements. And fiber bed mist eliminators are available in Energy Saver, High Efficiency, and Field Pack designs.
Fiber bed mist eliminators are the best choice when some industrial processes generate finer droplets than a composite mesh pad mist eliminator can contain.  These devices utilize fine fibers along with a concept commonly known as diffusion or Brownian motion. The particulate will impinge upon the media before it reaches the outlet. This is due to the density of the media and the velocity of the air stream. The liquids coalesce in the fiber material and drains to the bottom.
These devices are typically a vertical cylinder, and should be protected by a pre-filter device. Fiber Bed Eliminators are very efficient as a final control device for sources with high Hydrochloric Acid emissions.
Features of the Fiber Bed Mist EliminatorInclude a pre-filter section to protect main filters; blower inside housing for quieter operation; 10 gauge heavy duty construction; easy to read pressure gauges; hinged doors for easy access; small filter footprint for ease of handling (no forklift required); blower discharge from either top or side of unit for easy installation.
Fiber Bed Mist Eliminators are high efficiency separators that are able to collect droplets at submicron level. They are available as cylindrical elements and can be manufactured in a broad range of materials.
Applications: The Fiber Bed Mist Eliminator can be used on a variety of applications including cold heading, electrical discharge machines, hot forging, and parts washers. The unit exceeds OSHA standards, being able to comply even when OSHA updates the standards.

Pad mist eliminator or mist eliminator mesh pads with applications

Pad Mist Eliminator or mesh mist eliminator padsHas support grids at the top and bottom. Pad mist eliminator applications require special consideration to assure the removal of entrained moisture in the effluent gas stream.
Woven wire mesh pad mist eliminator
The woven wire mesh pad mist eliminator provides gas-liquid separation at lower mist eliminator cost. However, due to lower gas velocity limitations than vanes it requires larger more costly separator vessels to achieve effective separation.
Mist eliminator pads materialsMist Eliminator Pads Mesh and grids may be made from most metals and plastics i.e. SS-304, 304L, 316, 316L, 430, Monel, Nickel, Copper, P.T.F.E. (Teflon), H.D.P.E., P.P. etc. and other metals, alloys or plastic which can be drawn or extruded.
Mist eliminator pads are made up from knitted materials with interlocking asymmetrical loops of metal or plastic with typical wire diameters being 0.1 – 0.3mm. By careful choice of wire diameter, Knitted wire products have produced knitted mesh mist eliminators with extremely high free volumes (typically 98-99%) along with very high removal efficiencies and low pressure drop.
Separations & Mass-Transfer Products Division has produced high efficiency knitted wire mesh mist eliminators for free water droplet removal from vapor streams up to 99% removal of droplets 3 micron and larger. Mist eliminator drain roles greatly improve glycol and amine solvent loss reduction.  This role feature may be added or specified on any standard mesh pad application for increased droplet removal efficiency performance and overall capacity.

Oil mist eliminator or oil mist filter used for oil separation

Oil Mist Eliminators or filter out oil mist created by machines before the mist is expelled into the ambient environment. Oil mist is created by machines mechanical action such as: vacuum pumps, compressor pumps, gears, transmissions, reciprocating engines, turbines, etc. Oil mist is a potential health and environmental  hazard. Additionally, oil mist creates an oil build-up or residue on everything within the machineries environment.
Some machines, such as oil-sealed pumps are used and are oil mist free and the need for an oil mist eliminator is not needed. When choosing an oil mist eliminator, the following should be considered and determined.
  1. Volume and capacity of oil mist: Oil mist eliminators have limitations as to how much gas can flow through them. Exceeding the rated or design limits of an oil mist eliminator is not recommended. Selecting or designing a oil mist eliminator for up to 3 time the expected run or operating capacity is recommend:
  2. Oil mist produced by a machine often contains more than oil but it also contains many other contaminants and harmful chemicals. Additional features that prevent exhaust of these contaminants should be included.
  3. Consider the maintainability of any oil mist eliminator. Systems that require a new paper filter, or excessive routine maintenance should be avoided. Keep in mind that a low maintenance system may actually be more expensive, but costs less over the like cycle of the machine.
Oil mist eliminator application samples:Chemical and Chemical Plasma Series
For mechanical pumps
Pump-aggressive gases encountered in plasma etching
Oil that condenses in the second group does not recycle back to the pump but remains in the mist eliminator's body
Sight glass enables operator to monitor the quantity of oil retained
Hermetic SeriesFor hermetically sealed mechanical pumps
Made of stainless steel
Helium leak checked to extremely low leak rates before shipping
Use when pumping precious or exotic gases in a closed loop
Oil mist eliminators improve the air quality in the vicinity of the air intake, which in turn helps to maintain power output and reduces the frequency of air filter replacement as a result of oil fouling.
Integrated Air Systems can provide a fully built bespoke system and installation package for your factory/manufacturing plant.
Thousands of liters of oil can be lost from an installation over a period of a year due to oil mist emissions. The cost of replacing expensive turbine oil can be greatly reduced by returning the recovered oil back to the system.
Oil mist eliminators reduce the capital cost of an installation by minimizing the need for complex venting and pipework installations.
  • Eliminates all visible oil mist
  • Suitable for gas turbines, steam turbines and diesel engines
  • Discharges clean air to atmosphere
  • Eliminates oil stains, reduces environmental pollution – improves site conditions
  • Can be mounted away from the source at a convenient location
  • The units can be floor or machine mounted
These units are based on our proven design as supplied to a number of Beverage Can Plants over the past years.

Mist eliminator filter with aluminum, galvanized steel and stainless steel

Mist eliminator filter can be available in aluminum, galvanized steel and stainless steel. The mist eliminator filter is designed to remove oil mist and water droplets from the air.
The mist eliminator filter is designed for use in bio-scrubber or air handling systems that require the collection of either oil mist or water droplets.
Oil mist is most commonly found in production machine shops where oil is used to lubricate machines. By catching the excessive oil, the machine and area around it stays cleaner and safer for those working in that area. These filters also keep the air cleaner by eliminating excess oil from getting into the air.
The mist eliminators are also effective on water droplets, found on cooling coils, humidifiers and cooling towers where steam has condensed into water droplets. In the air supply, water droplets may occur over from cooling coils and evaporative media or un- evaporated moisture downstream from humidifiers.
Aluminum The aluminum mist eliminator is made with an 0.037 aluminum frame, surrounding a multi layered pad which includes both aluminum expanded media and screen.
Galvanized steelThe galvanized steel mist eliminator is made with a 24 gauge galvanized frame, surrounding a multi layered pad of 0.0157 galvanized expanded media and screen.
Stainless steel
The stainless steel mist eliminator has a 304 stainless frame with multiple layers of stainless steel expanded media and screen throughout the filter.
Specifications:Mist eliminator filter comes in a wide variety of sizes. For example:20×20×2. Filter can be custom made to fit odd size application. Available in thickness from 2" to 12". Special sizes can be available.
